Recommended places in Stalos village
Maria's restaurant, located in the heart of Kato Stalos offers a variety of excellent
Cretan, Greek and European dishes. Their excellent service and good prices have made
Maria's place popular among tourists and locals alike. If you are looking for something a little
more out of the way, Leventis restaurant is located in the hills of Pano Stalos village.
The beautiful scenery and tranquil surroundings are a perfect setting to enjoy the delicious
traditional Cretan meals the restaurant is renown for among the locals. Service may be a little
slower, but the delicious food is well worth the wait. If you are looking for a few drinks,
Mambo beach bar is a short walk from the hotel. Located on the beach, it is a great
place to enjoy a few cocktails and listen to a variety of music. If you are looking for something
a little louder, next door is the club Envy. The action starts after midnight, and the
music is mostly Greek, a great place to practice your belly dancing (Tsifteteli) or Zembekiko.
It is a bit pricy, so if you are a driker, you may want to have a few cocktails before you go,
or go with a group of 6 or more and just order a bottle. While these are the most popular places
in the vicinity of the hotel, there is a large number of restaurants, bars, cafe's and shops
for you to choose from, all a short walk away.
A little further out
The village of Platanias offers a wide variety of restaurants, gift shops and night life,
and is only 4 Km west of the hotel. Frequent busses and cheap taxi rides make the village
extremely accessible. Mylos is one of the popular clubs that gathers locals and
tourists alike. This club features dance music, but also offers a small enclave that plays
Greek club music. A short distance away is Privilege, the most popular and
crowded club. If you are looking for something a little quieter, but still fun, visit the
bars Utopia or Rock House.

In the other direction from the hotel, check out the Ouzeri Bamboo. It is approximatly
1 Km east of the hotel in the village of Kalamaki. There you can enjoy a mixed platter (Mezes)
with a few Ouzos. In Chania city, the Venetian harbour is a beautiful setting to enjoy an ice-cream
or coffee, and watch people go by. Several bars and restaurants line the cobble stone
promenade.
